The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
