And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
