Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
