Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 and ease my task for me. 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 so that they may understand me. 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 Increase through him my strength 31 and let him share my task, 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 and may remember You much. 34 “Indeed You see us.” 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 When We told your mother what We relate: 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 Both of you must speak with him in a gentle manner so that perhaps he may come to himself or have fear (of God)." 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 He asked: "Who then is that Lord of yours, O Moses?" 49 He said, 'Our Lord is He who gave everything its creation, then guided it.' 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 Moses said: "Its knowledge is with my Lord, recorded in the Book. My Lord does not err, nor does He forget." 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 To eat and feed your cattle. Surely there are signs in these for those who are wise. 54
