Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
