Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In a high Garden. 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
