The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing. 84 And We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, except with the Truth; and indeed the Last Day will come, therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), forbear graciously. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 for whatever they have done! 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 When (you feel so) glorify your Lord with His praise and prostrate yourself before Him, 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
