Blessed be He Who hath placed in the heaven mansions of the stars, and hath placed therein a great lamp and a moon giving light! 61 it is He who has made night and day succeed each other, a sign for those who would take heed and would be grateful. 62 The true servants of the Gracious One are those who walk upon the earth with humility and when they are addressed by the ignorant ones, their response is, "Peace"; 63 Those who spend the night in adoration of their Lord prostrate and standing; 64 And they who say: O our Lord! turn away from us the punishment of hell, surely the punishment thereof is a lasting 65 Verily ill it is as an abode and as a station. 66 They are those who are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but keep a balance between the two; 67 who do not invoke any god but Allah nor kill a soul, which Allah has forbidden, unjustly, nor commit adultery. -He who does this shall be punished for his sin, 68 The punishment shall be doubled to him on the day of resurrection, and he shall abide therein in abasement; 69 Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 70 Those who repent and act righteously have truly returned to God, 71 And those who do not witness falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity. 72 Who, when reminded of their Lord's revelations, do not fall for them like the deaf and blind; 73 And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqun" (pious - see V. 2:2 and the footnote of V. 3:164)." 74 They will be awarded the high place forasmuch as they were steadfast, and they will meet therein with welcome and the ward of peace, 75 and wherein they will live for ever: what an excellent abode and what an excellent resting place! 76 Say thou: my Lord careth not for you were it not for your prayer; whereas ye have even belied, so presently this denial shall come as the cleaving punishment. 77
