Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
