By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
