The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
