۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
