Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blest be He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over everything Potent. 1 Who created death and life that He might try you as to which of you is better in deed. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving; 2 Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder? 3 Then return thy gaze again, and again, and thy gaze comes back to thee dazzled, aweary. 4 We have adorned the lowest heaven with lamps, and We have made them for driving away devils. For them We have prepared the punishment of the blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord, is the punishment of hell; and what a wretched outcome! 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 So now they admit their sins! Therefore accursed be the people of hell! 11 For those who fear their Lord in secret is forgiveness and a great reward. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 How could He who created not know His own creation, when He alone is the Most Subtle in His wisdom and the All Aware? 14
