The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
