The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
