The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 Thereafter you will certainly die 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
