۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of delight, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
