Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 Others will be despondent, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
