The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 The rising dawn, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
