(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And make my mission easy. 26 And loose a knot from my tongue. 27 so that they may understand my speech, 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 Strengthen by him my back. 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 and remember You much: 34 Surely Thou seest into us.' 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 Already another time We favoured thee, 37 “When We inspired in your mother’s heart whatever was to be inspired.” 38 “That, ‘Put him into a chest and cast it into the river, so the river shall deposit it on to a shore – therefore one who is an enemy to Me and you, shall pick him up’; and I bestowed upon you love from Myself; and for you to be brought up in My sight.” 39 when thy sister went out, saying, "Shall I point you to one to have charge of him?" So We returned thee to thy mother that she might rejoice, and not sorrow. Then thou slewest; a living soul, and We delivered thee out of grief, and We tried thee with many trials. Many years among the people of Midian thou didst sojourn, then camest hither, Moses, according to a decree. 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 They both said, "Our Lord, We fear that he may commit some excess against us, or exceed all bounds in transgression." 45 'Fear not,' said He. 'Surely I shall be with you, hearing and seeing. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old?" 51 Said Moses, 'The knowledge of them is with my Lord, in a Book; my Lord goes not astray, nor forgets -- 52 He it is Who spread the earth for you; and made in it paths for you, and sent down water from the sky, and then through it We brought forth many species of diverse plants. 53 Eat, and graze your cattle; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 54
