Pray, "Lord, if you would show me that [the punishment] of which they have been warned, 93 O my Lord, put me not among the people of the evildoers.' 94 And indeed, We are able to show you what We have promised them. 95 Repel thou the evil with that which is fairer. We Ourselves know very well that they describe. 96 And say: My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from suggestions of the evil ones, 97 I seek refuge with You, Lord, lest they should come near me." 98 Until, when death cometh unto one of them, he saith: My Lord! Send me back, 99 so that I might act righteously in whatever I have failed [aforetime]!" Nay, it is indeed but a [meaningless] word that he utters: for behind those [who leave the world] there is a barrier [of death] until the Day when all will be raised from the dead! 100 For when the Trumpet is blown, that day there shall be no kinship any more between them, neither will they question one another. 101 Then he whose balances shall be heavy - these! they are the blissful ones. 102 But those whose scales are light - those are the ones who have lost their souls, [being] in Hell, abiding eternally. 103 the fire will scorch their faces, and they will abide therein with their lips distorted in pain. 104 [And God will say:] "Were not My messages conveyed unto you, and were you [not] wont to give them the lie?" 105 They will exclaim: "O our Sustainer! Our bad luck has overwhelmed us, and so we went astray! 106 O our Sustainer! Cause us to come out of this [suffering] - and then, if ever We revert [to sinning,] may we truly be [deemed] evildoers!" 107 He will say: "Remain condemned in it, and do not speak to Me. 108 Among My worshipers there were a party who said: "Lord, we believed. Forgive us and have mercy on us: You are the Best of the merciful." 109 But you took them for a laughing-stock, till they made you forget My remembrance, mocking at them. 110 Today I shall recompense them for their patience, for it is they that have won. 111 He will say: How long tarried ye in the earth, counting by years? 112 They will say: We tarried by a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep count! 113 He will say: "Ye stayed not but a little,- if ye had only known! 114 "Do you imagine that We created you without any purpose and that you would not be brought back to Us?" 115 High Exalted be Allah, the King, the Truth. There is no god except He, the Lord of the Noble Throne. 116 He, who invokes another deity along with God, a deity of whose divinity he has no proof, will be brought to account by his Lord. Certainly, those who deny the truth shall never prosper. 117 Say: "My Lord, forgive and have mercy. You are the best of the merciful." 118
