(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
