and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
