Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 that guides to the Right Path. We believe in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord. 2 'And Exalted is the Majesty of our Lord: He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 'And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblis (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinns] used to utter against Allah that which was wrong and not right. 4 We had supposed that men and jinn would never utter a lie against God. 5 But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness; 6 So they began to think, even as you do, that God would not resurrect any one. 7 We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight. 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty. 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
