Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 From the guilty. 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
