Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
