The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 and gathered his people together 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
