The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
