And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 And the satans have not brought it down. 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
