3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
