Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 The living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
