The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 You will become three categories: 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And wide eyed houris 22 like hidden pearls, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and serried acacias, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And made them virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
