The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
