The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 Then those who drive away with reproof, 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 And when they are reminded, they pay no attention. 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we (then) verily be resurrected? 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 For it is only a single scaring, then behold, they are watching 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. 21
