NAY, but consider the moon! 32 By the receding night 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
