Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
