The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 On a mighty Day. 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? 8 A Register inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
