Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
