The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 who give charity, 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
