(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 And my breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, therefore send Thou to Haroun (to help me); 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 "So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds; 16 Send with us the Children of Isra'il? 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you can believe." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 He said, 'The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,' 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 [Pharaoh] answered: "Produce it, then, if thou art a man of truth!" 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
