Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 (when wrong will be distinguished from right). On this day friends will be of no benefit to one another, nor will they receive any help 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
