Seest thou one who turns back, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
