The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
