The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
