Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Toiling, weary, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
