And Aaron indeed had told them beforehand: O my people! Ye are but being seduced therewith, for lo! your Lord is the Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order. 90 They said: We shall by no means cease to be its votaries till Moses return unto us. 91 Moses said to Aaron, "What prevented you, when you saw that they had gone astray, 92 from following me? Why did you disobey my command?" 93 'Son of my mother' he replied, 'Do not seize my beard nor my head. I was afraid that you might say: "You have divided the Children of Israel and did not uphold my word." 94 Said Moosa, “And what is your explanation, O Samri?” 95 He said, "I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger and threw it, and thus did my soul entice me." 96 'Begone! Your lot in this life is to cry: "untouchable!' said he (Moses). 'An appointment awaits you that you cannot fail to keep. Look at your god which you clung to indeed we will burn it and scatter its ashes upon the sea' 97 “Your God is only Allah – other than for Whom there is no worship; His knowledge encompasses all things.” 98 Thus We recount unto thee some tidings of that which hath preceded; and surely We have vouchsafed unto thee from before Us an admonition. 99 Whosoever turns away from it, upon the Day of Resurrection He shall bear a fardel, 100 Abiding under it - an evil burden for them on the Day of Resurrection, 101 The Day the Horn will be blown. And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed. 102 They shall consult together secretly: You did tarry but ten (centuries). 103 We know best what they will say, when their leader most eminent in conduct will say: "Ye tarried not longer than a day!" 104
