The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
