The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sun and its morning brightness, 1 by the moon, which follows it, 2 and by the day as it displays the sun's glory, 3 And [by] the night when it covers it 4 By the heaven and Him Who builded it, 5 by the earth and that (Power) which spread it out 6 And by Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul, etc.), and Him Who perfected him in proportion; 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 Indeed successful is the one who made it pure. 9 and he who corrupts it is sure to fail. 10 Thamud belied in their exorbitance. 11 When the basest of them broke forth 12 the Messenger of Allah said to them: '(This is) the shecamel of Allah, let her drink' 13 Then they belied him and they hamstrung her; wherefore their Lord overwhelmed them for their crime, and made it equal. 14 He did not fear the consequences. 15
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
