(Muhammad) say, "I am only a warner. The only Lord is God, the Almighty. 65 “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – the Almighty, the Oft Forgiving.” 66 Say, "It is great news 67 (And) you are turning aside from it: 68 I had no knowledge of the exalted chiefs when they contended: 69 "Only this has been inspired to me, that I am a plain warner." 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 72 And the angels did obeisance, all of them, 73 but not Satan, who was too proud. He became one of those who deny the truth. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?" 75 He said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay." 76 (God) said: "Then go hence, ostracised. 77 My condemnation will be with you until the Day of Judgment!" 78 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 79 (Allah) said: "Verily! You are of those allowed respite 80 till the Day whose Hour I know.” 81 He said, "By Your Honour, I will lead all of them astray, 82 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 83 He said: The Truth is, and the Truth I speak, 84 That I will fill Hell with you [Iblis (Satan)] and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together." 85 Say, "I do not ask you for any recompense for this, nor am I a man of false pretentions: 86 It is but a reminder to the worlds. 87 "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while." 88
