The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 Consider [God's] revelation, inscribed 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 by the Visited House, 4 The roof raised high, 5 and the sea that is full 6 Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass; 7 there is none to prevent it. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 Surely the godfearing shall be in gardens and bliss, 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 We shall give them fruits and meats, and what they desire. 22 There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup, free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vague talk between them), and free from sin (because it will be legal for them to drink). 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
